Welcome
to Cornwall Deaf Association.
Based in Truro we were founded in 1932. Our aim is to Support, advocate
and help meet the needs of Deaf and Hard of hearing Adults and Children
in Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly.
There are estimated 93,000 people in Cornwall with some degree of
hearing loss from moderate to profoundly Deaf. There are also 300 British
Sign language users in the County.
The Association is managed by a committee comprising Deaf and Hard of Hearing
people. We are not affiliated to any national organisations. We rely heavily
on voluntary contributions, donations and legacies. Our resources are used
entirely to benefit the people of Cornwall and Isle of Scilly.
We are always looking for new members and volunteers to help us continue
our work. Also welcome donations however large or small.
Please contact our office for further information or help.
Mark Cunliffe
Cornwall Deaf Association Chairman.
